Joining the Greenside Residents’ Association

Why Join?

By joining the Association, you will be able to raise matters of concern to you, your family and your neighbours and reap the benefits of having these addressed by a legally constituted body. Suburbs that have active and energetic Residents Associations protect the value of their properties and enhance the quality of life in their communities.

If you are a paid-up member, you are able to attend all GRA meetings and vote on community issues at our AGM. Prompt payment will ensure that our sub-committees can continue with their initiatives. It’s a small investment on your behalf to ensure that we are able to protect and improve our suburb and your home!

The ongoing success of the GRA is very much dependent on the active participation and involvement of community members.  We believe it’s important for the GRA to have as many members as possible in order to have a strong and united voice in local affairs and the resources to represent the interests of the community on important issues.  The GRA does not receive any public funding and is funded solely by MEMBERSHIP FEES. We urge all residents and business owners to join, as large, active and supporting member base will enable the GRA and committee engage in more activities, initiatives and projects for the benefit of Greenside and its residents.

What will it cost?

A reminder to all Greensiders to pay their 2023 annual subscription to the GRA. Membership fees have been kept very low – it is just over R1.36 a day per household to belong. So please join and help us help Greenside. The membership fee for 2023 is R500 per household (or R550 if you would like your own personal bin stickers – see below). We are able to offer pensioners a reduced rate of R250 and we also welcome business memberships (please email us for more info and business rates). If you are a GRA member you can get a set of our stunning personalised GRA bin stickers for just R50 for two. Non-members of the GRA can order the stickers for R120.

What happens to the money?

All money paid to the GRA (from membership subscriptions, donations, heritage application fees etc) is used to assist the GRA to communicate with residents, fund projects such as the printing of resident multi-event passes, clean-up projects in the suburb (including the Spruit). The current committee is looking forward to initiating community building activities, finding ways to bring residents together and foster a positive energy. This will take time, energy and some money. So please pay your annual subscription!
