EVENT NOTICE : PIRATES COOL IDEAS 10km & 5km FUN RUN – Sunday July 14th 2019

This is the historic Pirates 10km with a name change reflecting the new sponsor Cool Ideas. This race has been run since 1978 with the current route almost unchanged since the 90’s

The race starts at 8am on Cruden Bay outside the Pirates Bowls Club (at cnr Link). That is the only area where there is a PA system. The route then heads down towards the Parkview Golf Course before a long stretch on Emmarentia Ave before runners head towards Valley Rd and into Westcliff. The 10km runners finish with a quick descent down Kildare before returning to the Pirates Main Club.

There are no road closures however JMPD will be at every major intersection and marshals at all intersections to assist with the traffic and runners. There are 3 water points out along the route as marked in the maps.

The last runners are expected to be in before 10am with the bulk of the field finishing around 9am.
