What do you need to know about Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer and our trees? Would you like to learn more about the significant upgrades planned for the Greenway and Gleneagles intersections and pavements? How will the city’s plans to introduce paid parking in Greenside affect you? How can you comply with heritage requirements when renovating your Greenside home? Do you need advice on how to log issues and when to escalate service delivery issues?
We encourage all Greenside residents and interested Greenside business owners to attend our AGM, where you will have the opportunity to share any concerns, brainstorm ideas, and discuss future plans for our suburb. It is also a forum to formally vote in the GRA Committee. It sounds like a tired statement, but the only way to make Greenside the suburb you are proud to call home, is for as many residents as possible to attend meetings like this, and to actively contribute towards our community. Together we can make it safer, greener, infra-structurally sound, and a friendly place for future generations to live in.
The Interim GRA will report back on the work of our subcommittees and their plans and ideas for the future. This will include an update on security initiatives including the EGCP patrollers programme, the public space camera surveillance plans, how to comply with heritage requirements when renovating your Greenside home, and information on the Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer crisis.
Our special guests are Julian Ortlepp from Tree Works and JUFA (The Johannesburg Urban Forest Alliance) and our Ward 87 Councillor, Bridget Steer, who will present on the plans by the City of Johannesburg to upgrade the Greenway, Gleneagles, Greenfield Rd intersections and the public spaces in the neighbourhood node. She will also be available to chat to after the AGM. Representatives of CAP, Parkview SAPS, the Community Police Forum and JMPD have been invited.
